Automobiles in Germany's City Found Covered with Swastikas in Blood, Police Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Local Law Enforcement
Officers stated they were alerted by a individual who found a vehicle in Hanau marked with reddish fluid

Around fifty cars have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Cars, walls and postboxes were defaced, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.

Police state they were contacted late on Wednesday, when a resident discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored liquid.

The substance had been drawn in the shape of a banned symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then found multiple other smeared cars and house walls in the surrounding area.

These symbols are banned in Germany under regulations outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement say initial examinations indicate the fluid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no indication as to its source; authorities are not yet informed of any injuries in relation with the incident," they commented.

Municipal representatives announced they were attempting "to resolve the mystery" and have asked to the community for tips.

A senior representative said the incident made him stunned and had to be addressed rapidly.

"This event affects the center of Hanau and revives the wounds of the far-right terrorist attack half a decade ago," he stated on a platform, recalling the killing of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on residents of migrant background in 2020.
